China’s countless inventions, medicines and its contributions to human knowledge have made it a force on this planet for thousands of years. And the Chinese have been great astronomers, too. Their prehistoric records of solar eclipses have provided critical information to historians. And the ultra-modern cities like Beijing or Shanghai pulsate with commerce, culinary delights, and sights to astound even the most experienced traveller.
